Model United Nation – (HISMUN)

Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an extra-curricular activity in which Students typically role-play Delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN Committees. This activity takes place at MUN Conferences, which are usually organized by a High School or College MUN Club.

Hindustan International School Karapakkam , organized  a one- day International Model United Nations Summit  ‘HISMUN’19’ on 2 November 2019 (Saturday) for the Hindustan Schools . Around 80 Students from Middle and High School from all the three branches (Guindy, Padur and Karapakkam) participated in four different Committees such as United Nation Environmental Program, United Nation Human Resource Committee, Security Council and Surprise Committee (Crisis of the Earth) which involved substantial researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork and leadership abilities.

The Principal of the Host School HIS – Karapakkam in her Welcome Address reaffirmed her faith in the power of today’s youth to find solutions for pressing global challenges.

The Conference started with full zest. The Panel Discussion was followed by an Interactive Session in which Delegates asked several questions to the Panelists. At the end of the Conference, outstanding Delegates in each Committee were recognized and the day culminated with an Award Ceremony.
